Communications Coordinator

Living Goods (LG) is improving the health of families in under served communities through a proven and cost-effective model.  We are empowering entrepreneurial community health workers to deliver life-changing products to the doorsteps of the poor.

Living Goods works with leading organizations across the corporate, social and government sectors. We partner closely with the Governments to improve community health in areas where we have direct operations. We are also spreading impact and strengthening community health systems through assisted networks led by NGO partners including BRAC, Care International, the Clinton Foundation and PSI.  We seek to build on this success and particularly working more closely with governments and partners.

The Opportunity

The Government Relations and Advocacy team at LG is responsible for promoting the visibility of the organizations.  We are growing and now have an exciting new opportunity for a results driven expert in communications to join our team as the Communications Coordinator.  The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, an ideas generator, influencer, highly organized and a strong multi-tasker who can thrive in a fast paced environment.  As the Coordinator, you will work with internal and external resources to share the stories of our impact and work of strengthening Community Health systems with audiences across the globe.

This is a full-time role, based at our Headquarters in Kampala, Uganda and you can expect up to 40% travel across the country.


  • In partnership with the Director of Government Relations & Advocacy and Country Leadership, develop and implement the country communications strategy.
  • Develop content including compelling stories from the field for both local and global circulation. This will include blog posts, emails, stakeholder reports, and social media content.
  • Develop tailored communication tools to support the efforts of stakeholders across LG, e.g. Advocacy, meetings, conference, etc.
  • Organize and coordinate stakeholder meetings
  • Work with the Director of Government Relations & Advocacy to budget, monitor and control costs in adherence to internal control procedures for communications.


  • Minimum of 3 years experience in developing and implementing communcation strategies
  • Experience of working with stakeholders like MoH, District Leadership and other implementing partners  at various levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications in English.  Expert level presentation skills
  • Solid track record of publications
  • Strong project management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy. Conversant in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive for results
  • University degree in mass communication or related field
