Help Transform Community Health for 25 Million People
Living Goods is at an inflection point.

For more than 15 years, we have partnered with governments across Africa to strengthen community health systems and ensure that families can access quality healthcare where they live. Our work has helped demonstrate that when community health workers are equipped with the right tools, training, supervision, and data, governments can deliver lifesaving care at scale.

Today, the global health landscape is changing. Traditional funding models are shifting, governments are demanding greater impact and efficiency, and new technologies, including artificial intelligence, are creating unprecedented opportunities to improve frontline healthcare delivery.

Living Goods is meeting this moment with a bold new strategy.

By 2030, we aim to support governments in enabling 50,000 community health workers to reach 25 million people across our core countries, contributing to a measurable reduction in maternal and child mortality. Achieving this vision will require transformational partnerships with philanthropists and family foundations who believe that lasting change happens when governments are equipped to deliver for their people.

That's where you come in.

The Opportunity:
This is not a traditional major gifts role.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and relationship-driven fundraising leader who wants to help build and scale a major gifts program capable of generating more than $5 million annually in philanthropic support.
You will partner closely with the Director of Global Business Development, executive leadership, and program leaders to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropists and family foundations capable of making six- and seven-figure investments in Living Goods' mission.

This role offers a rare opportunity to help shape strategy, influence organizational growth, and build meaningful partnerships with some of the most sophisticated philanthropists in the United States.

The ideal candidate is energized by building something ambitious, enjoys creating opportunities where none previously existed, and thrives in an environment that values initiative, creativity, collaboration, and results.

What You'll Do:
Build and Scale a Transformational Major Gifts Program
  • Partner with the Director of Global Business Development to develop and execute a comprehensive major gifts strategy focused on securing six- and seven-figure philanthropic investments.
  • Help shape the future growth of Living Goods' individual and family foundation fundraising program.
  • Identify new opportunities, emerging trends, and innovative approaches to engage major donors.
  • Develop and implement donor engagement strategies that align donor interests with Living Goods' highest-impact priorities.
  • Serve as an internal thought partner on major donor strategy, philanthropic trends, and relationship management.
Cultivate and Secure Major Gifts
  • Build and manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects capable of making gifts of $100,000+ annually.
  • Create and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
  • Personally solicit and close six- and seven-figure gifts.
  • Leverage existing donor relationships to expand Living Goods' philanthropic network.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects and strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to advance donor conversations and secure transformational investments.
Deliver Exceptional Donor Experiences
  • Design meaningful engagement opportunities that deepen donor understanding of Living Goods' impact.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, events, learning opportunities, and site visits.
  • Ensure donors receive thoughtful stewardship and reporting that demonstrates the value and impact of their investment.
  • Represent Living Goods with professionalism, authenticity, and enthusiasm in external settings.

Who You Are:
  • Proven Major Gifts Fundraiser
You bring at least 10 years of experience securing major gifts from high-net-worth individuals and family foundations, with a demonstrated record of closing six- and seven-figure gifts. Experience in global health, international development, systems change, or related sectors is highly desirable.
  • Builder and Strategist
You are energized by building programs, creating strategy, and turning ambitious goals into measurable results. You can see both the big picture and the tactical steps required to get there.
  • Exceptional Relationship Manager
You naturally build trust and credibility with sophisticated donors and advisors. You understand how to navigate complex donor relationships and create authentic connections that lead to long-term partnership.
  • Outstanding Communicator
You are an excellent writer, storyteller, and presenter. You can translate complex ideas into compelling narratives that inspire action and investment.
  • Collaborative and Culturally Intelligent
You enjoy working across teams, functions, and geographies. You bring humility, curiosity, and cultural sensitivity to your work and are comfortable engaging with colleagues and partners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Entrepreneurial and Resourceful
You are self-directed, resilient, and solutions-oriented. You thrive in fast-moving environments and are comfortable operating with both autonomy and accountability.
