FIELD LOGISTICS OFFICER

Job Summary

The Field Logistics Officer will be positioned at one of Living Goods’ field office. The position holder will be responsible for providing and maintaining adequate storage space for Living Goods’ products. He or she manages stock movement to minimizes losses to the company and carefully controls the movement of goods. In addition, the position holder ensures the facility meets Living Goods workplace standards and is operated in compliance with our safety and security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

 

Storage Area Management

  • Maintains adequate storage conditions for consumer goods and medical supplies warehoused at Living Goods chain store
  • Takes appropriate measures to restrict access to storage area and ensure safety of goods and products

Stock Management

  • Arranges goods in storage areas to ensure easy identification of goods, batches numbers and expiry dates
  • Rotates stock according to First-Expiry First-Out policy to limit losses
  • Plans layout of goods to facilitate access and limit unnecessary movements of stock
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining adequate storage conditions for medical supplies and foodstuff
  • Ensures products returned by customers (defects and exchanges) are stored separately
  • Identifies and prepares materials and equipment for disposal or transfer

Controlling Stock Movement

  • Initiates requests to replenish stock utilizing established guidelines and procedures
  • Receives deliveries and verify quantity and quality of all incoming goods
  • Organizes the transfer of defects and exchange to Head Office
  • Responsible for issuing goods as per authorized (system-generated) documentation
  • Conducts monthly stock count in parallel with independent counter
  • The position holder is accountable for any losses within his store

Facility Management

  • Takes ownership of repairs and maintenance works required at assigned facility
  • Ensures his facility meets Living Goods workplace standards and is operated in compliance with safety and security procedures
  • Assists the Facility Management Team in scheduling visits by third-party service providers engaged in maintaining the facility
  • Assures quality of workmanship and confirms all works are executed in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Procures supplies and identifies local service providers to perform small repairs and maintenance works

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Financial shrink % of average monthly inventory lost to expiries and damages (caused by warehousing conditions), or other
  2. Number of stock movements transactions recorded in system
  3. Cleanliness and orderliness of facility (monitoring report)

Requirements

Training and Experience

  • Al least one year of experience in a store, warehouse, or inventory control function
  • Diploma in a related field

Skills

  • Using a computer and related software applications;
  • Preparing and maintaining records;
  • Performing mathematical calculations;
  • Maintaining inventory and controlling stock;
  • Providing customer service;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers and supervisor, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Supplemental Information

  • Heavy Work: Exerting more than 20 kg of force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 kg of force constantly to move objects.
